The Car Entrance Area
The car-entry area is a primitive ecological free-range wildlife exhibition area that can only be entered by closed sightseeing vehicles, covering an area of about 55 hectares. The car-entry area is divided into the herbivore area and the wild beasts area.

The Herbivore Area
The Herbivores Zone is the first section of the drive-through area, featuring over 26 species from Asia and Africa, including deer, yaks, camels, zebras, rhinos, and giraffes. Visitors can observe camels strolling gracefully, playful yaks, and large flocks of Mouflon sheep. The African savanna section hosts blue wildebeests and oryxes grazing, while mud-covered rhinos occasionally face off.

The Wild Beasts Area
Shanghai Wild Animal Park’s Carnivore Zone brings out predators’ wild instincts through live-feeding demonstrations. Watch Siberian tigers (the largest cats, weighing 350kg) with distinctive “king”-like forehead marks showcase their swimming and climbing skills. Observe African lions in prides – lionesses hunt while males defend territory. The zone also features cheetahs, bears (brown/black/Malayan), white tigers and wolves. Though often napping, these predators instantly transform into fierce hunters when prey appears, demonstrating their natural survival skills.

Walking Area
The Walking Zone at Shanghai Wild Animal Park features a diverse collection of animals in naturalistic habitats, including the popular Giant Panda Exhibit, Primate World with golden monkeys and gibbons, and Big Cat Territory housing rare white lions and tigers. Visitors can observe colorful flamingos and parrots in the Bird Paradise, watch kangaroos hop freely, and see hippos wallow in their pool. The zone also offers interactive experiences like the Petting Area with friendly pygmy goats and rabbits, while educational keeper talks and feeding demonstrations provide insights into animal behaviors and care routines. Throughout the area, informative displays help guests understand each species’ unique characteristics and conservation needs.
